Sunday Servants

Nursery Assistants

Two professional caregivers attend the infants and toddlers in our nursery during each Sunday morning worship service and on Wednesday nights. Substitutes are needed on occasion when our paid staff cannot be here. (Subs are paid.) Men, women, youth and families can serve.

At each worship service, a team of ushers greets worshippers as they enter the sanctuary, distributes worship folders, collects the offering and directs worshippers to the Lord's Table during services when communion is offered.  Men and youth are invited to serve.

To make everyone, especially visitors, feel welcome as they enter Holy Cross for worship and/or other activities, hosts reach out to people in the love of Jesus and help them connect with what goes on at Holy Cross. Volunteers can choose the time he or she wishes to host. Sunday serving times are 8am, 8:45am, and 11:00am.

Children, sixth grade through eighth grade, are invited to serve as acolytes and light the altar candles, candelabra, and seasonal candles before worship services and extinguish them afterwards.

Scripture Readers

Volunteers from the 8:00 worship service are invited to read the daily scripture lessons at the appropriate time.

Altar Guild

Altar Guild members prepare the altar/chancel for worship services on Saturday morning. They also set-up for Holy Communion before services and clean up after services.
