Holy Cross Preschool, Kindergarten and Child Care is a Five Star Step Up to Quality center, licensed to operate in the State of Ohio. Holy Cross School exceeds state-mandated requirements for staff/child ratios at all times. We maintain a ratio of 2 to 12 for two year old children and 2 to 16 or 20 for older children during the preschool hours from 9:00 to 11:30 and 12:30 to 3:00. During the rest of the day we follow the state-mandated requirements of 1:7, 1:10 depending on the age of the child.

At Holy Cross we group children by age. There are five preschool classes:

Meeting from 9:00-11:30 is a Two-Year-Old Class, a Three-Year-Old Class. a Four-Year-Old Class and a Pre-Kindergarten Class.

From 12:30-3:00 is a combination Four-Year-Old/Pre-Kindergarten Class.

The Pre-Kindergarten Classis designed for older four and young five-year-old children. This class is for children who just missed the birth-date cut off for Kindergarten and for those children who are not developmentally ready for kindergarten even though they are old enough. The curriculum of the Pre-Kindergarten class is a step above preschool and a step below what children are expected to learn in Kindergarten.

A State Chartered Kindergarten Class which has met the requirements of a 5 Star program under Step Up to Quality meets from 8:30-11:30. This class meets or exceeds the Content Standards set by the State of Ohio. Care can be provided before and or after Kindergarten for working parents.
